Arthur Justin Drexler (13 March 1925[1] – 16 January 1987) was for 35 years the highly influential curator (1951-56) and then director (1956-85) of the Department of Architecture and Design at MOMA.
His medium of communication – exhibitions – has been encyclopedic, stated the citation of his Award of Merit given by the New York Chapter of the American Institute of Architects in 1982.
Drexler was born in New York City[1] and attended the High School of Music and Art, and The Cooper Union studying architecture and served with the U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers during the Second World War.[2] After the war Drexler worked with the office of industria
